Cedarwood Festival 2020 Announcement

27th March, 2020

After significant prayer, consideration and discussion, the Cedarwood Festival trustees and Leadership team have taken the difficult decision to postpone the launch of Cedarwood Festival, planned to take place in July 2020. This has been done primarily in order to maintain the wellbeing of all participants, our partners, teams, delegates and speakers as first priority, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past month we have been closely monitoring the risks posed by Coronavirus and the effect this is having on some events and gatherings across the globe and it is in light of government and extensive medical advice we have made this decision. As a leadership team, we wish to uphold our integrity as a Christian organisation to abide by these guidelines, and hold that it would not be right to press on with gathering people in large numbers at this time.

We are excited to announce the new dates for Cedarwood Festival, which, baring a pandemic, will take place between 16-18
th July 2021, in County Durham.

Our commitment to the vision of the festival remains the same. To unite God’s people, the church, to worship. All ages, all people, all welcome.

We are so thankful that there has been much progress and areas to be thankful for already this year. Responsibility for the leadership and governance of Cedarwood Festival has been taken over and a new charity formed, a new leadership team and many more churches and organisations locally and nationally have decided to partner with us and our plans for 2021. Although this is a setback, we are excited with all God has planned not only for the event, but also the unity and relationships that are being developed from the work so far within the wider region.

We are so grateful to the many people and partners who have stood by us in prayer over the last few days as we have grappled with this unprecedented situation. Some information relating to questions some people may have are below.
