Cedarwood Festival | 2019 Cedarwood Festival location confirmed as Lambton Estate

2019 Cedarwood Festival location confirmed as Lambton Estate

1st November, 2018

We are thrilled to announce that the very first Cedarwood Festival will be held at the Lambton Estate, Chester-le-Street in County Durham from 5-7th July 2019.

Lambton Estate is the home of Biddick Hall and Lambton Castle; dating back back to the 1700s they have become Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, respectively. The estate has successfully transitioned into the 21st century with the construction Bowes Business Park; however, it hasn’t sacrificed any of its rural charm with woodland, sporting and farming areas dotted all over the estate’s impressive 1,200 acres. Located shortly off the A1 in the heart of the North East, Lambton Estate can be conveniently reached from major areas across the region.

We hope that the central location of the estate will draw festival-goers from all over the region. With great air and rail links, just three hours by road from Sheffield or Edinburgh, and less than 30 minutes from the cities of Durham, Newcastle, Sunderland, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Stockton, the estate is truly accessible to all.

Cedarwood Festival is using 50 acres of the 1200 acre estate in July 2019 with plenty of room for expansion in subsequent years. We look forward to welcoming you to this historic piece of land.

Event Director, David Stretton-Downes said, ‘’The location of the estate perfectly matches the criteria we were seeking for Cedarwood Festival. We are excited to be working with the management team and developing what we hope will be a long-standing partnership.
